I want to write a post about the Bengali wedding we went to last Saturday in Södertälje. It was such an incredible experience!
Upon arriving at the wedding, we were struck by the venue. It had a luxurious feel, beautifully decorated with vibrant colors and intricate floral arrangements. The ambiance was both festive and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for the celebration.
Maggie dressed up in a sari for the first time, with a little help from my mom 😛 She looked absolutely beautiful and felt great in the traditional attire. Getting ready at home with Maggie, my mom, and Tess (my brother’s girlfriend) turned out to be a bonding experience in itself. There were laughs and shared moments as they helped each other with the intricate sari draping. It was nice to see them connect over this cultural experience.
The whole wedding was amazing, and in true Bengali style, there were about 500 people there. How do one know so many?
It was great to catch up with so many family friends, and of course, the bride and groom looked lovely.
One of the best parts of the wedding was the dance performances. Friends of the bride and groom put on some amazing shows, showcasing both traditional and contemporary dance moves. My brother and his girlfriend even joined in, and hey, they were pretty good!
Overall, the wedding was a wonderful mix of tradition, family, and fun. We feel so lucky to have been part of such a special celebration. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The whole experience left us with a deeper appreciation for Bengali culture and the warmth of its people.
